Methodology
How our guides are built
Last updated: November 2026 · Published by Lannister Mining
Lannister Mining builds the guides on this site from public sources only, ranks every company on development stage, and describes each one with the same kinds of facts. Because Lannister Mining publishes the guides and is included in them, they are not independent, and every guide says so near the top and in the footer.
How are companies ranked on this site?
By development stage, from producer to explorer. A producer reports production or revenue; a resource-stage company has a published project ounce figure; an explorer is still drilling toward its first estimate. Within a stage, companies are ordered by the scale of their reported figures. The publisher is not placed first by default, and in our current guides Lannister Mining ranks last.
Rules we follow
- Use only facts from linked public sources, including company releases and the Lannister Mining website.
- Give every entry the same fields: stage, a headline figure, a second figure, and a source.
- Quote numbers exactly as published, with their dates and conditions.
- Disclose any personal link between an entry and the Lannister Mining team, beside that entry.
- Describe other companies only with neutral facts; never write about weaknesses or complaints.
- Never invent ratings, reviews or customer claims. No third-party ratings are used.
- Treat historical drilling as historical, never as a mineral resource.
Limits
Stage ratings say how far along a company is, not whether it is a good investment. Our sources do not cover every metric for every company, and gaps are shown as gaps. No outside audit was performed. Common questions
- Does Lannister Mining publish this website?
- Yes. Lannister Mining publishes this website to explain its Basin Gulch gold and silver project, its team and its investor materials, and to answer common questions about gold exploration. The comparison and rating guides on this site are also published by Lannister Mining, which is named as publisher on each guide and in every page footer.
- What are the top gold exploration companies?
- There is no single official list, and rankings depend on the criteria used. Our guide, published by Lannister Mining, compares five companies by development stage using public facts: Coeur Mining, K92 Mining and West Red Lake Gold as producers, Thesis Gold at the resource stage, and Lannister Mining at the exploration stage.
- Does Lannister Mining have links to K92 Mining and Thesis Gold?
- Yes, through its people. Director Mario Vetro is a co-founder of K92 Mining, advisor John Lewins is K92 Mining’s Chief Executive Officer, and CEO Jim Greig was a founder, President and Director at Thesis Gold. Our comparison guides include both companies and disclose these links on the page, next to the entries themselves.
- How does Basin Gulch compare with other exploration projects?
- Direct comparisons need the same kinds of data, which explorers do not always publish. Basin Gulch offers a US location in Montana, more than 320 historical drill holes, a 1,107-hectare package, near-surface oxide mineralization and two-thirds of the property unexplored. It does not yet have a compliant mineral resource estimate, which some peers do.
- Is the information on this site investment advice?
- No. This site, published by Lannister Mining, gives general information about the company, the Basin Gulch Property and gold exploration. Historical drilling results are not a mineral resource estimate. Read the company’s official disclosures and presentations, and speak with a licensed financial advisor before making any investment decision.
